WE Knives occupies an interesting space in the hobby. They’re generally attractive, well constructed, and moderately overpriced. Such were my thoughts upon receiving this new model, the 715 “Ignition.” It’s one of the few debuts clinging to their star-drive fasteners, a known enemy of disassemblers. So, can a $126 knife armed with nothing more than VG-10 ignite my passion? Spoiler: The answer is “Yes.”
I’ll be honest – I have a thing for sword-like knives. It’s probably a consequence of playing so many video games as a kid. And apparently, the folks at WE Knives are wise to my weakness. They recently sent over one of their 704 models for review, a gorgeous knife featuring great materials. Here’s what I came up with over the course of its stay.
Chinese knives have come a long way in the last few years. Many companies have gone from making cheap knockoffs to producing high quality, designer blades. One such group is WE Knives, makers of the gorgeous 706 you see here. Having little experience with the new Chinese products, I eagerly assented when they offered to send one my way.
