What? You want specifics? Well, I suppose, seeing as how I’ve spent several weeks with this little guy. It’s been on construction sites, car rides, and even camping in the mountains. Read on to find why, despite its rather pedestrian appearance, the Cutjack has become one of my new favorites.
You know the expression, “Never meet your heroes?” It’s the idea that, no matter how great something or someone may be in person, they’ll never measure up to the image you’ve created in your mind. Well, I’ve decided to go against this axiom. The folks at Zero Tolerance recently offered to send over one of their 0450 models, which has been my most coveted knife for a long while. I mean, just look at it! How was I supposed to refuse?
While some knife manufacturers may fear being typecast by the market, there’s something to be said for knowing your role. Few companies have embraced this idea as well as Cold Steel, who recently offered to send me a sample of their compact tactical folder, the Mini Lawman.
To paraphrase another famous lawman, “Go ahead, Cold Steel. Make my day.”
Chinese knives have come a long way in the last few years. Many companies have gone from making cheap knockoffs to producing high quality, designer blades. One such group is WE Knives, makers of the gorgeous 706 you see here. Having little experience with the new Chinese products, I eagerly assented when they offered to send one my way.

The CRKT Pilar has proven to be a hot commodity. Following its debut at the 2017 SHOT Show, this little EDC knife has sold out at many of the major online retailers.
