If you follow us on Twitter, then you know the story by now. Our beloved Timex Expedition Scout began to skip date changes and gain time about a week ago, creating concerns about its mechanical soundness. There were at least three instances of such errors, leading us to contact Timex. Then, while mulling our return or exchange options, the watch’s crown somehow disappeared. We first noticed it while walking through a department store on the way to an evening meal.
Here at Journeywind Junk, we like to give credit where credit is due. And, since joining our Everyday Carry more than a month ago, no piece of gear has gotten more use than our pocket-sized Ti3 flashlight from ThruNite. It’s been a solid performer on every front, and we felt it deserved an updated evaluation. Here are a few quick notes we’ve taken over the course of its stay.

So when we stumbled across one in our local Staples, we decided to give the medium point marvel a shot. The results, as you’ll read below, have left us somewhat conflicted.
