Mobile – Versatile – Vital
From department store aisles to free giveaways, cheap keychain lights are ubiquitous. But who says cheap has to be bad? Certainly not the folks at Streamlight, who’ve been kind enough to send me an example of their popular Nano Keychain Flashlight. So far, its brightness and budget friendly nature have outshined all expectations.
In EDC (and life in general), it’s good to have backup. Such was our thinking when assembling the work kit shown below, filled with items chosen to augment our standard daily loadout. After considering several lights to back up our trusty ThruNite Ti3, we settled on the PF04 Penlight from ThorFire. With additional power and size, the PF04 has served well in its big brother role. Read on to see how it stacked up in our four categories.
Here at Journeywind Junk, we like to give credit where credit is due. And, since joining our Everyday Carry more than a month ago, no piece of gear has gotten more use than our pocket-sized Ti3 flashlight from ThruNite. It’s been a solid performer on every front, and we felt it deserved an updated evaluation. Here are a few quick notes we’ve taken over the course of its stay.
